Global Konet(CEO Kim Yeon-gon), a company specializing in satellite equipment and solutions, participated in the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Industry Exhibition (Seoul Adex 2021) to showcase the Phased Array Satellite Antenna based on advanced future technology.

"Seoul ADEX 2021," which opened on the 19th and runs until the 23rd, is the largest exhibition in the aerospace and defense industries in Korea.

The "Konet Alpha (Konet Alpha) phase array antenna" introduced by Global Konet is attracting attention as a ground communication system terminal that is essential in the era of low-orbit satellite (LEO Satellite) communication and 6G communication networks in the future.

According to the company, U.S. space developer "SpaceX" stands out in the global low-orbit satellite market. Elon Musk, CEO of "SpaceX," is also the CEO of Tesla, a global electric vehicle company.

SpaceX is leading the way with its Starlink service, which provides global Internet connectivity by launching about 12,000 satellites. In particular, SpaceX's satellite Internet Starlink has launched a total of 1,558 satellites as of October this year, leading the market.

However, space Internet company OneWeb is also following suit by launching 288 satellites, and Amazon is also stepping up related businesses to preoccupy the low-orbit satellite market.

In the future, low-orbit communication services are expected to be a driving force in providing drone taxis, self-driving cars, and aviation internet with the provision of ultra-delayed broadband services. In addition, a new communication market is opening in the aerospace field that provided 6G ultra-wideband services, and the development of low-orbit satellites to dominate the global market is also gaining momentum.

Considering such market conditions, satellite communication experts say that it is urgent to enhance the competitiveness of domestic ground communication equipment.

Global Konet's phase array antenna is characterized by the ability to provide KU and KA band services using Phased multi-band chips. At the event, Global Konet introduced core technologies of phase array antennas by providing exhibition space in the digital hall. It also had time to demonstrate the configuration and actual equipment of digital phase array antennas while operating a demonstration vehicle in an outdoor parking lot.

In addition, export consultations were held with Lockheed Martin, the world's largest defense company, and Airbus, an aircraft manufacturing company. Based on such active public relations, Global Konet plans to continue negotiations to enter overseas markets in the future.

Kim Yeon-gon, CEO of Global Konet, said, "The Konet Alpha phase array antenna presented at this exhibition has no difference in performance compared to leading overseas products and has excellent price competitiveness."

In particular, CEO Kim said, "You can use a multi-channel phase array chip that is 8cm high and 36kg at a low price, and you can search for adjacent satellites every 100μs (microseconds) of a second without mechanical manipulation of the motor to maintain the link," and emphasized, "This is very useful for using satellite communication services in operational vehicles or drones."
