KAI Develops Future Weapon System for Unmanned and Unmanned Complex

The Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) will begin to develop the MUM-T, which was recently introduced at the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Industry Exhibition 2021 (ADEX).

On the 27th, KAI signed a contract with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration for the 'Helicopter-Unmanned Vehicle Interworking System Project', a rapid acquisition project in 2021.

The rapid pilot acquisition project being promoted by the DAPA is a system that verifies and determines the needs of products to which the fourth industrial new technology is applied through the military's pilot operation.

The Helicopter-Unmanned Vehicle Interworking System Project aims to build a complex system that expands the radius of operations such as long-distance reconnaissance and strikes by directly controlling and controlling drones from helicopters and providing drone video information to pilots in real time.

Through this project, KAI will install unmanned aerial vehicle control equipment and video information receiving antennas in its domestic mobile helicopter Surion and demonstrate the helicopter-unmanned period linkage system. The contract period is 14 months from October 2021 to December 2022, worth 4 billion won.
