Global Konet, a company specializing in satellite equipment and solutions, recently announced that it has supplied the XipLink WAN accelerator to government agencies. The WAN accelerator was supplied by a mobile terminal using the BGAN Explorer 710.

Portable satellite terminals are widely used for ships, overseas or domestic emergency communication because they are easy to carry and easy to use.

According to the company, users can freely use the satellite communication network around the world by using the L-band frequency of the Imarsat satellite. However, data transmission and response speed were slow, which significantly slowed users down.

Global Konet used real-time streaming compression, byte caching, AFR, packet compression, UDP compression, and LTE compression while delivering WAN accelerators. This resulted in the effect of compressing and transmitting satellite traffic. Based on this, packet charges were reduced and service quality was improved by reducing packets and increasing transmission speed.

Kim Yeon-gon, CEO of Global Konet, said, "The military and government agencies have raised many questions about the need for WAN accelerators, but the supply of WAN accelerators has enabled us to maximize the performance of satellite communication."

In addition, CEO Kim said, "The need for WAN accelerators that apply real-time compression and transmission methods rather than byte caching methods has been proven," and emphasized, "We will strive to widely supply high-performance WAN accelerators to consumers in the future."
