Global Konet Participates in 'InLEX Defense Industry Development Exhibition 2026'

Global Konet Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Yeon-gon), a company specializing in electronic flat-panel phased-array satellite antennas, participated in the Republic of Korea Defense Industry Development Exhibition. Hosted by the InLEX KOREA Organizing Committee to foster national industrial development and create synergy among related organizations and companies, the exhibition provided a platform for Global Konet to unveil new technologies and discuss business cooperation with military agencies and various domestic and international partners. In particular, this year's exhibits included flat-panel ESA antennas (MiNi, Nabi, Omega2, GA/GU24, etc.) for vehicles and drones applicable to Ku / Ka band defense missions. The company shared the latest information by preparing sales records and test videos, making it a valuable opportunity for engagement.

In addition to promotional activities at the exhibition, the company was selected for a new technology and product seminar presentation, as well as a military utility conference. By consulting with military officials and attendees highly interested in practical technologies, Global Konet introduced its technology and antenna products, receiving significant positive responses.

Based on its extensive experience in domestic and overseas exhibitions, Global Konet leveraged its accumulated know-how and promotional expertise by participating in this defense-related exhibition. The company evaluated the event as highly successful and significant. Through on-site consultations with military force integration and equipment procurement officials, as well as personnel related to military requirements, the company engaged in practical discussions and effectively promoted its technology as it prepares to expand into the defense industry sector.

First of all, as the exhibition was held at the Daejeon Convention Center—geographically surrounded by the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and agencies responsible for raising branch-specific requirements—there was no doubt that it provided a great opportunity for many military officials and diverse customers to visit the Global Konet booth and exchange various opinions.

Global Konet has already supplied one Ka-band ESA satellite antenna to the Marine Corps, successfully communicating with the ANASIS-II satellite and integrating it into the Marine Corps' C4I system, where it is currently in operation. This track record of antenna supply led Marine Corps force augmentation personnel to visit the booth, raising interest and favorable responses toward the company's antennas. Evaluated as highly competitive in terms of performance and cost, the meetings fostered an atmosphere of anticipation for future business expansion, with numerous opinions exchanged.

Furthermore, the company's satellite antennas for drones can be utilized in anti-drone operations using AI technology and drones, and can be deployed in regional air defense operations, such as protecting critical facilities. The Commandant of the Army Air Defense School (Brigadier General Lee Man-hee), who visited the exhibition, showed great interest in this operational concept and the company's antenna technology that can realize it. After hearing the explanation of the technology that can detect enemy suicide drones from a distance and intercept them at a low cost, he expressed strong agreement and resonance.

One of the practical challenges faced by the Army is solving the problem of seamless communication in rugged areas, such as long distances and mountainous terrains. Since most communication means rely on tactical communication systems, active research is being conducted on satellite communications as a way to overcome these limitations. In this regard, future developmental directions are being explored, including supplementing existing tactical networks, real-time information sharing methods, strengthening security, expansion plans by echelon, and network integration with existing communication systems. Global Konet's flat-panel ESA antenna is evaluated as an excellent means to efficiently solve the Army's concerns. Accordingly, the Commandant of the Army Signal School (Brigadier General Lee Jae-soong), who was visiting the exhibition with his staff, showed significant interest in the actual antennas for drones, vehicles, and portable use on display at the booth, and took the time to exchange opinions on how this technology could be implemented in the military.

In addition, military officials, including personnel in charge of combat experiments at the Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), combat experiment officials at the Signal School, and space and aerial network requirement officials at TRADOC, continued to show interest in Global Konet's advanced antenna technology. Opinions were exchanged on the technologies required by the military and methods to implement them. Since institutional support is in place for the Army to test and evaluate advanced technologies, consultations and advice were also provided on ways for companies to participate.

Moreover, Global Konet held open discussions at the booth not only with military officials but also with partner companies currently participating in military-led projects. They formed a consensus on cooperating not only on ongoing projects but also in the future.

Meanwhile, a technology and new product briefing session was held to discover new technologies and products and generate requirements for the development of the defense industry and the fostering of a science and technology-strong military. Selected through consultations with the military and related organizations, Global Konet gave a presentation during the seminar under the theme of "Introduction to Electronic Phased-Array Antenna Products and Status of Drone-Mounted ESA Satellite Antennas." The company introduced its maritime and ground mobility product lines, portable manpack products, and UAV and military drone product lines. In particular, the presentation received an enthusiastic response from the audience when it covered topics such as 'Development of aviation electronic beam steering satellite antennas' selected for a project organized by the Defense Agency for Technology and Quality, 'Development of Ku ESA satellite antennas for UAVs' currently underway with foreign investment, 'Development of EQM Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites and real-time inter-satellite link technology' in collaboration with Incheon National University, and 'Development of drone-mounted satellite antennas for coastal reconnaissance and surveillance' conducted as a technology innovation development project by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

Furthermore, at the conference room within the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC), the company participated in the Military Utility Conference program. Through prior application, consultations were held with relevant business personnel stationed at the on-site booth. Global Konet and military officials exchanged product and related information, and the company received an introduction to the systems and procedures for military application.

Global Konet considers its participation in this Defense Industry Development Exhibition as an opportunity to confirm the potential for cooperation not only with domestic and overseas satellite antenna-related companies but also with other platform companies, such as drone manufacturers, through military officials and partners. The company remembers the exhibition as an event where it recognized the need to expand its business in the defense industry sector applying advanced technologies—such as drone-linked defense operations and suicide UAV interception—and built consensus through discussions with various stakeholders.
